Say It Right (Sanxion7 Remix) Stepcharts by MIDI BPM - 67.5-135 Length - 2:31 Singles: Novice - 1 Easy - 3 Medium - 7 Hard - 9 Doubles: Hard - 9 The song is distributed under the Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 2.0 Generic license. Cut notes: I chose the cut of this song to be longer than the recommended length because I felt that leaving out any thirty-second patch of this song would not do it justice. Truly, I feel the last thirty seconds of the song brings a sense of closure to the melody. I opted for the latter half of the song because it included what naturally led itself to a slowdown, as well as echoes during the verse which lended themselves quite nicely to syncopation. The song is ogg-patched, and therefore R21-ready. In the singles hard chart, there are instances of the freezes used to represent the singing of Nelly Furtado, and rolls which do not need to be rolled to add emphasis to the echo which they mimic. This placed more emphasis, both scorewise and musically, on the slower part of the song. Only three rolls in this chart need to be hit more than once, and it is fairly obvious which those are. The use of syncopation and jumping between melodies is there for aesthetic purposes. The challenge of this chart comes from the pivots during the section of the song following the slowdown. All of these pivots can be done without any form of doublestepping. In the doubles hard chart, the slowdown has some rather unorthodox use of pivoting. While they are at a slow tempo and are not fast, they can be challenging because they mandate precise stepping over long distances. I felt they were an appropriate way to add emphasis to this part of the song as in the singles chart without merely rehashing the thoughts from the singles chart. The two easier difficulty charts are merely there for the sake of newer players, and simply attempt to follow the beat without becoming overly technical or challenging. The medium singles chart possesses more of the typical hard chart sort of feel. It follows the vocals well without getting too challenging, but the slowdown is perhaps too difficult to merit this chart the rating of a six. I have included a lyrics file, but left out the words of the echoes because they are merely echoes. Graphics: The graphics were created by me in Photoshop. The effects present are all original. The two images that are present come from Nelly Furtado's website, in her public gallery, making these images free to distribute. Thank you for playing, and I hope you enjoy Say It Right!
